Collaborative Representation
Collaborative law is a dispute resolution process in which parties to a family law matter commit to settling their differences in a creative, honest, and respectful manner that does not involve going to court.
In a collaborative case, each party engages a collaboratively trained attorney and throughout the collaborative process both parties and attorneys abide by a set of written principles and guidelines.
The principles and guidelines generally in use in Contra Costa County, as well as other information on collaborative law, can be found at www.clacc.org.
Mr. Carter belongs to the Collaborative Lawyers of Alameda and Contra Costa County and he has professional relationships with the other members of that organization.
